SSH is more secure than telnet? Probably yes, since it has encryption and the communication between the client and the server is encrypted.
But the answer could be no, since with SSH enabled, you can always copy the data from the server to client through ssh protocol with a simple and easy to use GUI tool such as WinSCP. So Telnet is still useful and secure when used in LAN. At least it doesn’t allow users to copy data out.
The following screenshot shows how to connect to a Ubuntu 14.04 desktop version Linux, using xManager 4 and Telnet. You have to install Telnet server on Ubuntu Linux first by running sudo apt-get install telnetd
xManager 4 can be downloaded from: http://www.netsarang.com/download/down_xmg4.html
